Top 7 : DCOM to Watch on Disney+ | HopelessAndFluffy

With all the extra time presented I've decided to try out some streaming services. The first being Disney +. I don't really think it's necessary unless you have kids to keep occupied, however, if you're feeling nostalgic it's there. It was a bit tough to narrow down seven films and I am not including Zenon because I don't believe there's anyone that that doesn't zoom, zoom, zoom. So without further ado here are the seven DCOM on Disney+ that you should watch and show your kids.

There's no way this movie can't be mentioned. I really wish they'd start airing it again because a lot children form strong impressions based on media, particularly if they don't live in a diverse area. This film used to come on every February which I thought was good because it was a sort of "reminder" that there's more than MLK, Malcom X and Rosa Parks. Yes, they are without a doubt significant to lives but five book reports a year is a bit much.

This was before all the shows with however many kids and demonstrates the importance of communication. Listening to your children is important, you should prepare to be sleep deprived by babies and there's always a chance you'll be surprised. That's the gist of the movie and it's filmed in a realistic light hearted manor as most dcom were; meaning it's good for subliminally teaching your kids things.

Team work makes the dream work. This was one of my favorite movies; it's a cheer movie, different to Bring It On!. DCOM were really made to tell you to want do better for yourself or at least the ones I remember watching. This particular film highlights working with others and following guidelines.

This is a comedy about the importance of family and not shitting on where they came from. This was fun to watch as a kid; I stood in front of the TV and learned the section of river dancing that was shown. This film branches more into folklore. I think I might watch this and follow up with The Leprechaun; not exactly for small children but the contrast would be interesting.

A good sports movie can always be appreciated. Especially when including sports that aren't as recognized; such as jump rope. Jump rope, skip rope, however you want to say it, is generally something categorized as a school yard activity. Double dutch is the specific roping style and takes quite a lot of work. Of course there's more to it than just jumping but you'll just have watch.

This was a good one; a good old father son acceptance story. Not all boys want to play sports and even if they do cooking is an essential life skill they should learn regardless. I just realized Disney made a lot of films with kids butting heads with their parents, which is accurate.

Surfing isn't really for me and neither is snowboarding but they work great in this film. There also appears to be a sequel that I don't know if I'll watch. I enjoy the familial/cultural importance story line; it was really cool how disney just slid in some more culturally relevant films.

What are some of your favorite disney channel original movies that you'd recommend?

How Are You?

Hey everyone! I just wanted  to take a moment to check in and ask how you all are doing;
Clearly there are some major things transpiring. I had a different post planned but I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge what's happening and the predicament people are in.

Though I didn't run out to stock pile toilet paper I'm not concerned. My retail job has closed and my other job is grocery shopping which is still open but implementing some changes, though I’m not planning to pick up anymore shifts. There are a lot less people out and about and i’ve read the planet is better for it, however, once quarantine is over people will probably revert back to ruining the planet. I’m crossing my fingers for better days and trying to do what I can in this free time I’ve been given and hopefully it’ll all work out.

Wishing you well,

Blue Errands

I feel the last few posts were on a more serious to somber note and I used to do quite a bit of fashion. I've had every intention and somehow I just couldn't bring myself to actually get up and photograph looks. I have been living in sweatpants outside of when at work so I figured that's the place to start.

I'm back chilling on my deck.

I showed this sports bra in my Alphalete haul on YouTube and I got these sweatpants at Dick's; they're Adidas kids. I didn't mean to buy kids pants but that's what happened and I'm not mad about it and they're meant to keep you cool. I got this denim top from a thrift store years ago and I love it! My sneakers are nike, I bought them at an outlet years ago.

My Quartz earrings, Arrowhead necklace and Blue Tigers Eye w/ a Moonstone bracelet are from Zenomi InnerG
My Mother of Pearl cross is from St.Thomas
My Labradorite necklace is a gift from a friend
My rings are from Limba Gal

Pearls and Other Ethics

Hey, guys! Just wanted to have an open discussion on ethics. I've found that I learn better when speaking with different people and thinking on other perspectives. I was going to make this a video but I felt a bit scatter brained and decided to try and write out my thoughts clearly.
As you may or may not know I am vegan; that's not what this is about, however, ethics come into question whenever veganism is brought up and so it is a reoccurring thought. Now I absolutely love pearls, however, they don't fall into the category of vegan or cruelty free. A friend of mine was saying oysters don't feel anything and I spoke to a woman who works directly with a pearl farm for her jewelry. I would just squash my heart beat for pearls but when talking to this woman the comparison of lab grown to natural diamonds was made; this did make me feel better about my wanting of pearls but it's never that simple. I've been doing some research and of course there's more to be done but like I said I work well with sounding boards. A lot of pearl farmers are looking into ethics as it's becoming an increasing concern for consumers. I'll leave a link to an article I'm reading here and they mention  cleaning the oysters by putting them in shallow water for fish to pick clean, which intern diversifies the fish population creating a positive effect. It's no secret the oceans are in danger as well as nature in general, the meat industry isn't going away anytime soon if ever and is extremely wasteful.

There are some "radical" vegans that think once you go vegan you basically shouldn't even be near animal byproduct but I am of the mind set that if I already had it or I bought it second hand, preferably not made in recent years it's fine, as I'm putting to use what would otherwise be wasted. Buying new product can be a bit of a grey area. On one hand when you don't buy second hand it contributes to the demand but if you don't some fashion houses don't re-purpose what isn't bought. On the jewelry side organic pieces are beautiful. It's still a matter of sourcing in some regards; horn falls off naturally all you have to do is collect it. Bone and shell are byproducts of the food industry, therefore putting to use every bit of the animal. When it comes to wood jewelry i would ask the company directly, I know oracle uses a specific type of wood that they replant and has a fast growth rate. Also honey, obviously not vegan as it is byproduct, however, honey is good for you and bees do overproduce honey which is bad for them. As some bee keepers just want the profit from the product sourcing can be an issue. There are a good amount of places where you can visit the bees to know the bees are being kept properly so I don't find honey to be something for vegans to fuss over.

Back to lab grown vs natural diamonds. They're both diamonds, just made in different environments, which brings up the concerns of mining. I read that certification has helped and somewhat hindered ethically sourced diamonds. The question becomes how much mining is too much? I was watching an opal documentary and it was said that while speaking to an aboriginal you're supposed to put the dirt back after mining, which is not being done and is compromising the areas. It was even said by the owner of a dig site that he wouldn't be able to drill at a site anymore or it would collapse. There's a mine I was thinking about going to and they have off limits areas and I thought to myself how much digging if any should we be doing? When will the site be closed down from all the digging. I love gems but I'm now wondering how many more we can dig up; lab grown gems are great alternatives, especially from a price standpoint. Then I think of all the gems already mined and set, they're beautiful and I want them but I don't want to contribute to the detriment of earth, however, mining creates a living for a lot of people. So I would consider this a grey area.

Lots of thoughts, hopefully they came out coherently. I'd love to hear you guys opinions on everything and anything else you want to converse about.

Vision Board

I have joined the affirmation lifestyle!
I think everyone to some degree is apart of the lifestyle whether they're conscience of it or not; it's definitely more effective when done with purpose. Now moving in silence is also a good idea, however, sometimes sharing can promote accountability also help other people. I'll be adding to my board over the year but it's at a good starting place.

Yes, I did paint a section of my wall just for this and I'm quite pleased with it.
A few thing are fitness based, if I don't exercise I'll be in pain so I have to keep it up. I've been dabbling in contortion and a seated bridge and scorpion variations are moves I'm specifically working towards. Savings is self explanatory; I also want more tattoos and seriously lean other languages, not necessarily all of the ones in the photo. Writing is something I need to do a lot of for personal and future endeavors, I want to write as consistently as possible. The cameras and sewing images are indicative of creative projects and I am shooting some things. I've always wanted to sew more than I do, I find it very enjoyable and calming. Craftsmanship is something I adore and having something well made of you're own doing is really nice. I have a tenancy to go through spurts of having a messy space and I need to change that because it gets annoying quickly. Of course a plane equals travel. I've traveled around the states including Puerto Rico and St.Thomas but I need to get out of the country so I'm going to plan a few trips to go on.
Lastly I have peace of mind; the last few years have been dreadful as I've mentioned a few times. There's been some bad family news, I got hurt and I had a break up. I mentioned vulnerability is hard for me but talking does in fact help and it can help others. It's hard for me to say out loud that my relationship was abusive. Since being out of it, everything that was every wrong comes back almost crystal clear and it's very hard on my psyche. There are plenty of people that know who my ex is but I don't want any sort of drama to come from being open nor do I want to potentially hear from him, so please do not seek him out or mention me to him. At some point I may speak more in depth about it and try to help people through awareness, however, I'm not there yet. I just want to be transparent and helpful. Peace of mind is a long term goal but I intend to reach all of them and hope all of you reach whatever would be on your boards.

Update : Rehabilitated Leg

It’s been a good while since I’ve been out of physical therapy. I’ve kept up relatively well, however, I have had spurts where I haven’t maintained as I should.
So I was at the gym the other day and decided to actually track my numbers on the leg machines I use. I wrote down my highest weight and the highest comfortable weight. In case you're not familiar with what the equipment looks like my gym uses Life Fitness machines.

Seated Press
Both Legs- 130 | 85/100
Single Leg- 70 | 55
Jogging- 55 | 40
Adduction
100 | 55
Abduction
115 | 70
Glute
70 | 55

If you missed it my left knee cap doesn’t sit exactly where it’s supposed to because of scar tissue after having the rod inserted into my femur. Also because my knee sits low my legs don’t quite look even but I measured and they are. My knee bends farther than what is standard recovery for my injury, however, I was already in pretty good shape when I got hurt. Before therapy I could bend 23° and after I was 8° away from a full bend which is 145°-150°. I can almost fully sit on my shins consistently and that makes me extremely excited, I don’t have the measuring tool; but I took a picture.

Sending all the well wishes in the world to those recovering.

Aesthetics

Lately I've been trying to put everything in place, which is always a process and "in place "can always change but in the moment that things are it's very nice.
I've collected a few trinkets here and there over the years; sometimes with an idea of what I want it for other times I plan to make them work.

I found a beautiful quarts display tray for a heavily discount price(otherwise I'd have kept my monies). When I saw it I instantly knew I just wanted to have a boujee moment in my bathroom. Once I placed it things just came together. Some items I were already in my house and others I thrifted or re-purposed; I still have work to do but my counter top is gorgeous.

Let me know you guys have been inspired to rearrange or create.
